Garlic Balsamic Mushrooms

Quick, easy, and garlicky balsamic mushrooms are here and they are incredible! 

I actually bought these mushrooms to prepare Beans-Mushrooms Meatballs but since I couldn’t find fresh basil anywhere, I decided to give this a try.

Ingredients Garlic Mushrooms
Garlic, Sriracha, Balsamic Vinegar, Soy Sauce, Pepper, Salt, Mushrooms, Olive Oil (not pictured)

You’ll only need 7 ingredients to prepare this delicious side dish. Feel free to add/subtract the amount of garlic and sriracha.

NOTE: For best results, make sure you simply clean the mushrooms using a damp paper towel. 

If you *HAVE* to wash the mushrooms, make sure you immediately pat-dry them using a paper towel.

First, I started by sauteeing mushrooms with olive oil.

Once the mushrooms turned golden on all sides (and shrank a lot), I added all the remaining ingredients.

After mixing everything and letting the liquid reduce, the dish finally came together. Just one more thing.

Garnishing! You can sprinkle your fav freshly chopped herbs. I used cilantro.

Needless to say, this tasted amazing! The heat of sriracha, and the subtle sweet note from balsamic vinegar really complemented the garlicky taste of the dish.

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 600 gm button mushrooms (21 oz.)
  • 3 large garlic cloves
  • 1.5 tablespoon balsamic vinegar
  • 1.5 tablespoon soy sauce (or tamari)
  • 1 tablespoon sriracha
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Freshly chopped parsley / cilantro (to garnish)

Instructions

  1. Set a large skillet over medium heat.

  2. Add olive oil. Once it's hot, add the mushrooms. Stir and saute for 4-5 minutes, or until they're golden on all sides.

  3. Once they're golden (and shrunk), add the remaining ingredients - garlic + balsamic vinegar + soy (or tamari) sauce + sriracha + salt + pepper.

  4. Mix well and coat the mushrooms. Stir and cook for 2-3 minutes, or until the liquid is reduced.

  5. Garnish with freshly chopped parsley/cilantro. Serve hot.
