My boyfriend and I joined the Vegan bandwagon about 8 months ago. He had been a vegetarian all his life and always encouraged me to be one. I wanted to switch but if I were to change, I would only be doing it for him. It didn’t feel “good” at the moment.
But then Earthlings happened. It was an eye-filling, heart-breaking, and a life-changing experience. Meat, fish, and egg felt disgusting. Right then and there I knew I have been turning a blind eye to my eating habits and decided to do something about it.
Little did I know Nabin was having the same change of heart – he learned that milk and dairy were just as cruel and unnecessary. We promised to never go back to our old eating habits and switch over to a completely plant-based diet.
It was an exhilarating moment. We thought we could easily switch to a dairy-free, meat-free diet. And why wouldn’t we..there were thousands of blogs and hundreds of youtube videos, and dozens of books/ebooks to help us out.
But there was a slight problem. We wanted the recipes that were easy (like really easy) to prepare, recipes that didn’t have a high number of never-before-heard ingredients and recipes that didn’t call for weird hi-fi cooking instruments. There were some, but there was also a huge gap that had to be filled.
Hence we started this blog. We want to publish easy (like really easy) plant-based recipes that will not only help newbie vegans but will also encourage non-vegans to switch over. The mission is to make Veganbell one of the largest plant-based online cooking resources by 2020. Do stick around to find out if we make it. (hint: We Will!)
